Default Thinking about using veil G4 but.......???

Hi fellow members. I'm thinking about using veil G4 to add to my arsenal of countermeasures but I have some concerns I want to clarify before I jump into using it. I own an 08 Infiniti M35 with blinder m27 in the front. My RD is an escort 9500ix. My car is white in color. No countermeasures at the back of the car. My questions are?

    1. How hard is it to apply veil? Do I really need an airbrush to apply veil evenly on my headlights and fogs or the supplied brush will be enough? I want it to look very even with no noticeable lines from using a brush.

    2. Would one application be sufficient to add protection? I don't want a really dark headlight as to dim the output. I currently have Hid 4300k stock on my headlights and hid 6k fog lights.

    3. How long does it take for veil to dry? What do you use to clean up spills?

    4. Is it legal in Florida to have tinted/darkened headlights?

Before you start applying Veil, have you first had your front installation authoritatively tested for performance? You want that optimised before you start messing around with passive countermeasures, otherwise you have no idea how your system is performing.

If your system is performing well already, then I'd save that $100 bucks for some rear heads before I invested in redundancy for my front end.

If your system isn't performing up to snuff, and you have optimised the installation as much as absolutely possible, then Veil would be a good next step, before rear heads.

Reports on ease of application are mixed. Some find it a breeze. Others end up undoing and redoing it multiple times and still don't get it right. Lots of factors to consider, but generally, it is not considered as easy as it looks on You Tube.

Some see it dry in less than an hour. Others still have a tacky feel after a week. You never know. Preparation is key, but results are still unpredictable.

One application is sufficient. If it isn't, then it's not Veil's fault. It's because your jammer sucks, which means that's where you should be spending your money.

    6000k HID fogs... /facepalm

it will cut down headlight performance.. by how much depends on how thick the veil is applied.

Excellent point SS. I will definitely have my hammers tested to make sure they work 100%. If it does, I'll just save the money for the rear heads. Thanks for the advice.

LOL, this is why I love SS. Its hash, but its the truth.
I'll be retesting his setup tomorrow morning. A member got JTG with the same car, jammer, and same placement. If I get a PT >200ft tomorrow, your install failed.

    1. Veil, if you take your time, is easy to apply. Opening the can though...I cut my finger. Twice. And my wrists are still sore (/sarcasm). But the cans are the hardest part. They are really hard to open. Applying it easy. I only used the supplied brushes and it was a breeze.

    2. They add a slight tint, almost a smokey look to your car, but as far as I can tell they don't dime the output at all.

    3. No idea, but it will dry overnight. IMO. I used a paper towel to clean the spills up. Easy enough. If you spill it everywhere, ammonia or windex will clean it up fine.

    4. Im in Kansas, but and I do know it is illegal to tint your windshield and back windshield and I have a friend who has a 45 percent tint on both. He has an 80 percent tint on the regular windows when the limit is 40 percent. We live in the most cop infested area of the world (probably) as I have been pulled over for doing 37 in a 35, as our cops have NOTHING to do (suburban neighborhoods). My friend hasn't been pulled over yet.

My point? Even if tinting is illegal, not only is one coat of veil impossible to notice to anyone else, you aren't gonna get pulled over even if you dump the whole can on your car.

    I HOPE I HELPED.
