What type of detection in Los Angeles?

I've checked the sticky posts which have been helpful. My more specific question for fellow residents in Los Angeles is, what is the predominant type of detection police/CHP are using?

I live in Pacific Palisades and run the PCH from Malibu to Long Beach regulary. I've been able to get information on locations of speed traps, which has been great. Which are thry using as the predominant detection? Radar or laser? For you aficianodos, which type of rador or laser detection system do they use?

If i missed a post that has this, please point me in the right direction.

Does anybody know what model of laser speed detector the LAPD uses?

On my ticket He wrote Laser# 13482 IND or INS

His writing is nearly unreadable.

Does the IND or INS(one or the other) have any relation to make and model of laser speed detector he used?

u should photcopy the ticket

i think that number relects either the ticket written by that gun...or jus the serial number of that gun

90% of all Laser Guns are Kustom Pro-Laser III in California since most local police already have contracts with Kustom Signals and use their radar guns. I have yet to see the Ultralyte in action over here, even though people have said they have seen it.
