Update for Bulgaria:

X-Band is still in use and 98% of the police radars use that...more common is the use of instant on mode.

Police now are starting to use Ka-band with video recording, BUT they are still illegal..!!!...they don't have the certification from the local lab to use them for speed enforcment.

Greece:

Radar detectors are illegal now...!!! make sure police doesn't see it...as you can get fined.

They use mostly LIDAR and video cars...you get pulled over after few km's. If you pay within 3 days the fine is reduced by 50%...you can pay at the local post office.

Doest anyone know if detectors are still legal in Italy, Slovenia and Croatia???

Radar detectors in Greece are illegal to use them only if you don't the licence from the Greek "fcc"(E.Ε.Τ.Τ).Radar and laser jammers are totally illegal with 2000 euro fine.

You are a little late. There is my report from April 25 2009, where I describe the very first encounter of XR in Greece.

I didn't see it very well (the white stripe), so I wasn't sure of the type of Robot gun used. BUT, I certainly saw 5x scope, color, scheme etc.

Non-radar speed measuring in hidden police cars

No / bad response to Berkut - Beltronics (including RX65 Euro), Escort Passport 9500i, Cobra 9950. Good for Lithuania - Whistler 1788, XTR-560, XTR-690, Pro-78, Escort Passport 8500 X50 EURO (K Pulse ON), V1, not bad other Whistler models and old Cobra models - POP is a must. Use of radar detectors and laser jammers in vehicle illegal. If found installed - confiscation and 100-200 Lt fine.
