Just wondering about New York

I was wondering because i could not find it anywhere on the internet.

If Radar Detectors are illegal in New York state or not.

Completely legal. i have used them in NY for 15 years now.

oh ok thanks, i was very curious about that. cuz older people (parents) think is like the worst thing in the world and most illegal thing.

Yeah, I was in upstate NY this week on business and some waitress said that they were illegal, but they aren't. If you want to know, only VA and DC are RDs prohibited. Go to a NY store and they sell them.

They are completely legal. NY has a law banning RDs only in commercial vehicles over 18,000 lbs. If I'm not mistaken, this is also a federal law.

Yes this is true, but it's another one of those stupid laws that gets passed for revenue purposes only.
