+1 on both. DPS gave me my only ticket, and I always see FHP out hassling drivers when I am in the Sunshine State.

Wrong. I have a ticket driving 5 MPH over as proof.
I have seen Ohio go as low as 2 over and BAM ticket!
Not me, some friends got it.
Ohio State Highway Patrol has an unwritten code, excepted only during "targeted enforcement campaigns," that gives officer-discretion to pretty much anything under 10-over, on 65 PSL open highways. As long as you're smooth and with the flow of traffic, at under 10-over, you're typically fine.

This is per a fellow local car-club member, who is also an enforcer, and who is knowledgeable about such practices.

The big wildcard, in Ohio, as anywhere else, is the locals.

I've seen locals ticket at 1+.

At the same time, I've also seen locals have as high of a tolerance as our own good Officer Fritter.

last year, during memorial day wknd (i know, i know), my wife and i drove from indianapolis to washington dc. we took I-70 all the way across...

i had never seen anything like this in my life...ohio had troopers working in tandem every 3-5 miles. the amount of overtime pay alone that the state must've spent for that weekend had to be bonkers!! i know it was a holiday weekend, but it was also a holiday weekend for indiana, pennsylvania, and virginia!!

The great thing about Wisconsin is that while they're sneaky, it's always the same little towns that the cops are sitting outside of. If you run a route through there regular, you hardly even need a RD anymore. Just get around PSL when the GPS talks and you're okay! My best friend has two summer/winter homes in northern wisconsin and the UP, so we make that run from Chicago a lot. But I could certainly see it being bad if you were just passing through.

I haven't read this thread yet, but I would say that North Carolina troopers are pretty deadly. Expert instant on radar users and they take speeding seriously in NC like you robbed a bank or something. Too bad NC's traffic death stats are still lagging far behind many other states despite NC having the harshest speed laws in the country and some hardcore troopers.
