    Default Need a few attourneys....

Well, the significant other took a road trip to PA last week.... They returned with two tickets.... One in Darien, GA (87 in a 70) and one in Raleigh, WV (92 in a 70). Rather than investing in attourneys in the future I think I'll invest in a radar detector for the upcoming birthday. I was thinking an escort 9500ix. Cant do a V1... too chatty. I love mine though. So, anyone know any good attourneys for those areas? PLease and thank you!

What state are you from? Some states don't count out-of-state tickets. You'd be better off paying them and moving on, if your state doesn't count them. (I'm going to guess that you're from FL/AL )

Unfortunately, Florida does assess out of state violations, as if they actually occurred in FL, provided that FL has a similar law on the books (which they obviously do, for speed).

    Straight off the Florida website,

If you hold a Florida license and have received a ticket in another state, they will send Florida the ticket information and it will be added to your record. You will receive points on your license if the ticket is a point-accessible violation according to Florida Statute 322.27(3). Florida law does not allow any school or program to remove points for a ticket received in another state.

Any unpaid ticket reported by another state will result in the suspension of your Florida license. If this has happened you must contact the county where you received the ticket and obtain a receipt with the Court seal. You must present this receipt to DHSMV via fax (850-617-5178), or mail, or in person at any Florida Driver License Office. There will be a D6 suspension reinstatement fee due if the ticket was paid after the Florida suspension date. If you are not sure if you owe the D6 suspension reinstatement fee or have trouble contacting the county where you received the ticket, please call 850-617-2000 or inquire at your local Driver License Office in person.
Points for speeding are as follows,

Less than 14 MPH over = 3 Points

15 or more MPH over = 4 Points

Your significant other is looking at 8 points on his/her license. Once he/she hits 12, that means his/her license gets suspended for 30 days. I'm not sure how an out-of-state attorney would work. I've heard that they can appear for you in court, but I'm not sure. Either way, you should DEFINITELY get an attorney for both tickets.

Again you all amaze me with your expanse of information. I love this forum. I've fought tickets before and never had to go to court. The attorney always went for me. I've never had to fight one in another state though. The ones I found in GA only try and reduce the speed and it's like $700 to plead not guilty... Which is rediculous. Here in FL it's only $150 for the same thing.

. Luckily, my state doesn't count out-of-state violations. I'll be moving down to Florida here in about 10 days for college, and you can bet your ass I'll be keeping my PA license . What part are you from? I'll be in the southwest.
