Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police, Mereddyd Hughes was the UK's ACPO chief spokesman on anti - speeding policy.

He's just been banned from driving for being caught speeding 30mph over the limit.

I think it proves he thinks he's God and that "it" doesn't apply to him.
Even I wouldn't hack it at 90 on a 2 way A road. Plus all that cobblers he spouted about not being able to get a solicitor to represent him (in order to get the court date changed)...aye right, very "taking it on the chin."

that may be the case and i totally agree with you about speed not being the major cause of accidents but if he does believe that then he shouldnt be in his position in the first place.

he enjoyed nailing people for speeding and was outspoken about random speed traps being good at slowing down speeders. yet he was probably driving like that all the time. serves him right IMO :twisted: .

i guess someone at the station forgot to tell him where the speedtraps were going to be that night :wink:
