yeah it's really irritating to see people on the dulles access road skipping traffic.

BUT the problem with this is, what if someone unfamiliar accidentally gets on the access road? i'm familiar with our highways, and i STILL somehow managed to end up on it by accident. and once you're on it. YOU CANT GET OFF. Honestly, it's ridiculous, you have to go ALL the way to the airport, there are no exits to get off of it!

So if i had of gotten a 600$ ticket because i made a mistake and couldn't correct it. I'd be extremely angry. And if i took it to court, they'd probably say i was lying and charge me.

I can't see this passing, for THAT reason.

It is going to be interesting to see how the cameras are going to prove that the driver should or shouldn't be on that road. It sounds like a big scam to me. They are just going to mail whoever they want a ticket and there is going to be no way to fight it.

I don't understand... if you didn't want to go to the airport, wouldn't your punishment be not ending up where you were trying to get to? Or do people go the whole way to the airport and then to their destination to dodge traffic or the tolls?

I see people blow through the tolls 24/7 on the Bay Bridge and Fort Mchenry Tunnel Toll. Every time you hear the loud "ERRR" sound, someone has violated it. Then you see the MTDA cop cars parked by the tolls with no cops ever in them, so people keep doing it. Whose gonna stop them? I don't agree with the cameras at all, let the cops who are paid to enforce the the tolls deal with it, instead of playing in the traffic near and around the tolls.

the thing about that road is that the airport road runs a long side the highway the WHOLE way, and they BOTH dead end at the airport. when traffic is backed up for miles, it's faster going all the way to the airport, and then just turning around and quickly getting back on route 28, that it connects to.

And you can make your use of the airport road legal as long as you conduct some type of "official airport business". If you know for sure none of the MWAA cops followed or noticed you, you can skip your "official airport business".
