Forgewire, have you encountered anymore vans since that video was taken? I'm about to buy the Escort Redline, (€450), but I want to make sure I'm not wasting my money.
Im begining to think the Redline is the way to go.

ok, thanks.
How does the vertical mount fare out on the ROBOT gear or have you met any yet?
Also your setup, the vertical mount antennas order are laser top, radar bottom...would flipping the radar antenna (higher the better) to the top do anything or is the bracket 1 option only. ( I hope that made sense! )
Good vids anyway Mike and keep up the detective work lads.
not enirely sure what you mean, but the V1 clips into the vertical mount one way, and one way only.
The power cable will be coming out the bottom off the vertically mounted V1. Its a fairly obvious setup at the moment as i'm using the coiled cord from the cig lighter, but i plan to reroute the straight cable around the windscreen, and have it fall down to the bottom of the V1.
I previously had it mounted high in a corner of the windscreen (horizontally)
The vertical bracket does not allow for adjustment, so positioning very close to the edge of the windscreen, meant that it was pointing at a ditch due to the curve of the windscreen at the edges.
I've yet to encounter an active Robot, but anicdotal evidence suggests that a vertical mount provides better range on these units as well.
Pause my vid of the rear approach at 0:04 and you'll get a good idea of what i'm saying

I saw your setup in the video, pretty much the internals of the V1 the Radar antenna is below the laser I was just thinking out loud if the V1 was the other way round (power to the top) would there be any gain? Probably not but it would probably be more easier for the cable routing as well, but its not to be I suppose/
Sorry to be pedantic, but we are not in the UK, we are from the Republic of Ireland and have not been apart of the UK for decades..(not to be confused with Northern Ireland which is still part of the UK)
