Which back up RD?

Cant decide btw Beltronics E795 or Whistler pro 58!!! Any imput would be nice.

my vote is the whistler pro58 but fine the cheapest price for one that is a new unit. the other day i testted out a brand new express795 for a friend well the rd did a poor job atsniffing outmy talon ka seems that the bel 795 some are good and some really suck maybe same goes for the whistler models to :?

In a way, I need to thank the E795 for my current V995. If I hadn't been somewhat disappointed with the performance of the E795, I wouldn't have "upgraded" to the V895. And if I hadn't found a V995 through an authorized Beltronics reseller for only $5 more than the V895, I would have kept the V895.

The difference between the V895 and the E795 was pretty significant, though....and I've heard (because I've never used the Whistler Pro 58 model) that the Pro 58 is probably a little bit more comparable to the V895 than to the E795. So basing my decision off of that, I'd go with the Whistler Pro 58. I think from everything I've read and heard (and from my experience with the E795) that it's probably a better overall detector than the E795 (and the cost is pretty comparable)....

The Pro-58 is towards the higher-end of Whistler's line. The E795, though it is a Bel, is the lowest-end Bel there is. You do the math.

And I would imagine that the difference between the Pro 58 and the E795 is probably just as great, if not even more so.

Bottom line: I agree that the V895 is a good detector, but I was not all that impressed with the E795.....
