Yes, it was most likely an instant-on threat, especially if your RD went off at close to full signal strength and then went back to zero.Originally Posted by Stealth 795
I see that you have an X50 (no arrows). This is where the V1 shines, since it would pinpoint the direction of the radar source to tell you approximately where the LEO is located.
i thought of that at the time as well..WOW wouldnt a v-1 be handy right now but thats it...I use more options that the escort offers way more than any i would of the v-1.Originally Posted by GCH
plus the v-1 doesnt do much while in standby mode is just a a or a j on the display, which to me is quite dead looking and-only one signal meter is also boring....
thanks for the info...
May just be a false, eg detector in car passing other direction.
Welcome newcomer. Was that your first IO or instant on? Instant on can be quite deadly.
If it was a very strong signal than perhaps it was instant on. Most likely it was a false if it was a weak signal and then died almost right away. False as in a leaky detector or some other source, the X50 rarely comes up with radar sources out of essentially nothing.
I've done a lot of tests on the V1 and X50, and in the same spots the V1 will come up with strange signals that the X50 would be completely dead in.
X50 looks better and has more features, but most importantly a better screen and you can program it more easily. Arrows and rear horn are the only disadvantage, but you can live without them.
Could of been interferance, because if it was a LEO, you would of had warnings, or just a real long blast. Just a thought, but the Crapra sound possible too :?

yes this has never happened before liek that..It was in a new area so I really dunno what happened..I really think that the quick ka was a instant on almost 100%.I have never got a false ka like this.
I have had r.d.'s for years now and I like the x-50.
I will have to try the v-1 as soon as its humanly possible.
Thanks for the welcome I used to be on the threads a while back .
I'm willing to bet it was caused by a passing Cobra.... They do cause full-KA falses on my Whistler, but very rarely (i.e. if I have them 10ft from each other for testing, it happens every 5 minutes or so)
