Constant-on = the radar is constantly transmitting, and the officer watches the speeds of vehicles as they pass byOriginally Posted by chitownthugin
Instant-on = the radar is left in "standby" (not transmitting) until a suspected violator comes along, and the officer flips it to "transmit" to obtain a speed reading.
Hey chitown. Constant on or C/O is when a LEO leaves the radar gun's beam on so you are able to pick it up a little easier. Instant on or I/O is when the radar beam is shut off on the radar gun and the beam will be turned on very quickly, just long enough to get a speed reading on you and then the beam get's turned back off. On your rd, you may have a full alert, and then it goes quiet. That is the best way I can to describe C/O and I/O. Instant on radar is much deadlier so watch out. Good luck.
so my rx65 will pick up a constand on radar anytime, but not intant on, just when the leo sees a suspected speeder and switches his gun to constant on rightOriginally Posted by jimbonzzz
Yep, that is correct. That is why it is important to not speed if you are the only vehicle on the road, it is best to find another speeding vehicle and stay 14/ to 1/2 mile behind him. That way, he'll get instant-on'd, and you'll get an alert telling you to slow down.Originally Posted by chitownthugin
You still can pick up instant on but that can be hard to pick up sometimes. :x
Must have good reflexes with instant on
Now that was a good post. Thx
It's important to not speed at all .Originally Posted by jimbonzzz
I doubt a motorist could slow down fast enough to defeat instant on.
Its more like instant-Own3d.
This of course being the only vehicle on the road.
