Ok so I finally got a Bel RX65 and on two cool mornings got the "self cal" message. The first time it only did it once but then this morning it did "self cal" 3 or 4 times then said "service required." I turned the unit off, turned the heat on high (it was 28 degrees this morning) and after 10 minutes turned the unit back on and it appeared to function normally. I also noted that every once in a while it would give X and K warnings without an audible alert, but that was corrected with resetting.
Needless to say I'm disappionted the Bel RX65!
I want to buy another unit to use while this one is out for repair and considered the Escort X50 but after doing some searches it sounds like that model is bassically the same as the RX 65 with the some of the same problems.
So here are my questions:
Has anyone continued to have problems with the RX 65 even after sending it out for repairs?
Is the RX 65 more reliable after being sent for repairs?
Should I get another RX 65, an STi, an Escort X50 or something else?
