Unless the state actually is required to confiscate any RD's they find, I'd leave it up. Sure, the officer seeing a RD may sway him away from writing a warning, but if you're honest (Which is rare for alot of cops to hear honesty), and respectful, he may let you off for not causing him too much trouble.

I'd leave it, gives LEO the feeling of satisfaction to get you with radar when you have a detector.

That is more or less a given. Two of the times were stupid, the others I wasn't really paying attention too speed.

I should also add once leaving it up did get me out of a ticket. A city (AFAIK only have K band) LEO was sitting in the middle of a 6 lane interstate in a section were everyone drives 5-10 over or more (the PSL drops by 5MPH through this section). All of a sudden the middle lane slows dramatically in front of me, so I change lanes to the open fast lane, lift, and blow past them at less than 5 over the PSL when I see the LEO. RD doesn't go off, but his lights come on. He has a disgusted look on his face and asks if I know why I was pulled over. I don't. He claims I was doing 15 over, goes on a rant, never gives me a chance to say anything, and grabs all the generic information. Sits in his car for about about 10 min an then lets me go saying they are just making people aware of the PSL there. I SOOOO wanted to ask to see the radar, but why push it.

PS about 6 months later they raised the PSL by 5mph and traffic flow is much better.

Always good advice... plus on those barren roads you can't go very fast anyway. When all you have are the little "candles" on your bumper you can't see very far...
This is off topic but I just have to ask you SmaartAasSaabr. In your signature where you quote Jimbonzz going off on a forum member. When did this take place and could you post the thread that this took place in. Sorry for being way off topic but I really want to read that post.

I have been pulled over for speeding 4 times WITHOUT an RD. Been polite, never sassed the LEO, etc. And I have yet to receive a warning for a speed infraction. So I'd probably leave the RD up if tagged. That said, I don't speed if I don't have a rabbit, so it SHOULDN'T happen.

The one time I got let off was for running a red light. I knew the LEO was there, and KNEW he was clocking me. But I got so locked onto watching my speed that I forgot to watch the stoplight. He let me off because I was a Buffalo Bills fan and so was he.

That's why I like the SR7 concealed RD. Unless DPS is running a spectre around me I'm relatively stealth.

When I had a window mount I kept it up by the rearview mirror so it was hard to see anyway.

I would disagreed with this statement but he might consider it a trophy that he caught you with one of them though. That’s why my V1 is concealed.

Around here, the LEO's are nowhere to be found on the backroads. Not enough people to hit.
