STi or V-1?? (VA Driver - read on)

Got my STi about 2 weeks ago....I can say that I have been saved a couple of times but I am the type of guy that typically only buys the best. I cant help but continuing to think that the V-1 is the best.

Ironically, I was pulled over on my first road trip with my new car (08 535i) and new STi. Unfortunately, the LEO paced me as I came down an onramp so neither detector would have helped in that case. I can say that he had no idea that I had my STi (and thank goodness he had his trooper hat on or he could have seen it above my RVM).

Would I be better served to go with a V-1 for the BEST protection and figure out a way to conceal the unit and then deploy some type of kill switch? I now have my STi mounted in my headliner (I know, heat is bad) but I cant see the display at all and must rely on the sound of the alert. Suggestions needed, please. Thanks.

Unless you can get one of those 0 leak V1's that were going around in Australia then stick with the STI. Words of wisdom "Not even a V1 will save you from being paced"! You have a great RD. You just need to keep your eyes open and aware of your surroundings for that is THE ONLY WAY TO PREVENT BEING PACED. :idea:

It's not quite candy. . it's not a cobra here. They basically have what was it. . 800 feet is what they can pick up the v1 at. Which could be a considerable amount.

Not to disagree with their suggestion though, stick with the sti.

If you do use a V1 I would have a cheap throw a way detector in case you get get busted, hell buy one off Ebay for $10 or so.

I feel the urge to promote the V1 but I just can't do it...must delete letters...keep the STi...NOOOOO, I can't live with myself for doing that.

for VA the STi is about as good as it gets.
