I have found that Ka is hard to detect and sometimes I get decent range while other times, I am right up on the LEO before it goes off.

Ka has a tighter wave pattern more directional and requires less power
Also it has a broader range of frequencies.

    X-Band 10.525 GHz +/- 25 MHz
    K-Band 24.150 GHz +/- 100 MHz
    Ka-Band 33.4-36 GHz

    specs provided by GOL.

Is the leo shooting the back of peoples car as they pass by? If yes, that kind of speed trap will only give you a short warning. It does give you a warning, which is better then a lower cost unit which will show nothing.

They do that on some of our overpasses from time to time.
Fortunately I seem to always pick up there forward facing antenna shooting someone in front of me before I pass the overpass.
Keep pushing that I/O trigger on a regular basis LEO!

Yes. Sounds like my experience when A LEO is ahead, ahooting front facing radar. You get about 25 yards or warning before the signal is detected, then as you pass the LEO the detector goes crazy.

Also, keep in mind that if the LEO is parked right behind a victim, or following really closesly the beam doesn't have a chance to disperse before reflecting back. The radar signal needs distance to spread out.

See if you don't get like 10 times the amount of warning when the LEO is shooting TOWARDS your vehicle.
