I saw the unit I am looking to buy, the 8500 X50 sold there and just wanted to make sure the warranty would be honored. Thanks.

yes
A word of warning though, if you try to try it out for 30 days and return it they will charge you a restocking fee. And I don't think BB offers you 30 days, I think it's only 7 or maybe 14 days.
14 Days. No restocking fee if the unit is "broken"Originally Posted by davekr
Restocking fees are a joke. Yeah, it costs up to 40% of the purchase price to toss the item back into the warehouse.
Best Buy is an authorized reseller of Escort products. I'd imagine they could get in big trouble if they weren't authorized but sold them anyway.
Keep your Best Buy receipt for proof of purchase; if the manufacturer needs it you can present it to them.
The "restocking fee" is there to prevent "retail rental," in other words, customers buying radar detectors, GPS systems, digital cameras, and some other items for a vacation or so and then bringing them back after it's over. Some people claim the item is broken so that it can be returned without a fee, and that usually works 90% of the time as they usually don't check the items out when they come back. Keep in mind you only have 14 days to return it, too, if you decide you don't like it.
I think Best Buy also offers their 2-year Product Replacement Plan on that.
Why not buy it from factory direct? You have 30 days to try it out and no restocking fee and sales tax.
California law requires trial periods to be 30 days if I recall.. I know t-mobile has some 'try for 14 days, if you don't like it cancel contract with no fees' BS but california law superceded as 30 days, but you have to show the law to them and do a lot of whining
