it's not really used, hardly at all. The only place I've actually seen it when I had my Crapara was on I-4, downtown Orlando.
when i drive back to wisconsin my old v1 used to go off all the time in indiana, or ohio or something, to K band, to construction signs on the interstate, i THINK that was sws, but not sure, anyways debating just turning the stupid thing off in NH
ya i think k band is sws of some sort also. every time i go by a train, k band goes off on my X50.

haha man, nothing since 2001, how sad :|
The last time I had a SWS alert was in fall of 2002 when my then-new whistler 1665 alerted me to heavy fog ahead, as if I couldn't figure that out looking through the windshield.
I had one yesterday, but it was a walgreens door opener that apparently fell out of tune.
what message did it display? "caution: pharmacy open"?Originally Posted by lennyo3034
I had a dream last night about a SWS alert.
Anyways, the only real alert I have received and I have received it a handful of times was "A train is approaching" alert on my Cobra ESD-6200.
in Quincy MA around the North Quincy T Station.
However the tracks are fenced in, so there is no reason for the alert since cars can't get to the tracks.
No train ever came either.
