What is it in WI??

Hi guys. I got my Passport X50 after readin a ton here a couple months ago, info was great, and much appreciated. Anyways my question is, I travel between IL, WI, and MN during the week, and have recently noticed WI troopers standing out of there car and pointing rite at me, but nothing goes off. Today I happened to see a truck hit the brakes about 2500 ft up, and broke down, but was the only car around, and the trooper was pointing rite at me, and I could literally see his arm flexxing as if pulling a trigger, so I know he was operating. Is this somethimng new? I've had a laser detection before several times, but here I got nothing. I got off at the next exit, and looped around again, same thing I went by he was pointing at me, and nothing. I kept goin down the road, and about 5 miles later, same thing, another trooper out there, but nothing registered, and again I was really the only vehicle around. Just wondering if they got some new toys I dont know about. Thanks guys!!

It's probably laser. Did you see lenses on the end of the gun? Was the officer holding it up to his face (to aim through a viewfinder/scope)? If so, it was laser. Laser detection can be hit or miss with most detectors.

Another possibility could be a MPH Z series gun with POP, but I haven't heard of WI having them. Try turning POP on on your X50 and see if it picks up anything next time you see them.

Kpatz, yes he definately was holding it pretty close to his face, almost like one would hold a rifle w/ scope, not rite up to his eye, but probably about 8-10 inches away. The device looked liek a standard radar gun but was very short barrelled, like a snub nose revolver(perhaps 2-3" long on the barrell. So I suppose you nailed it w/ it being laser. I didnt realize it was that hit or miss w/ it. I will try turnin' the "pop" on next time I'm up there and see them. Thankyou for replying I was dyin' of curiosity on this 1.
