That brings the total to 7...

As for RMR and leakage, since they act as a jammer, wouldn't that mean they would leak? They have to emit some sort of signal. Granted, it's passive so it isn't emitting a radar signal, but then that's why they don't work either.

That said, if the RMR scramblers are violating FCC rules for emitting signals, what exactly do they emit if they're a passive device?

I believe violating FCC rules would require their products to actually work. As it is, they're just deceiving consumers.

Ka as 3 bands--are there not multiple types of K or X band? They probably found an 8th band somewhere (or used theoretical Ku band detection, if the X50 has it)

I wonder if their products are even FCC approved. If they aren't, that angle can be used.

Most of the bogus bands Cobra claim include things like SWS, strobe alert, different laser gun pulse rates, VG-2, etc. The X50 has none of those, nor does it have Ku. It doesn't even have a Ka USA mode like Beltronics, so it treats Ka as one really wide band. In short, the X50 detects X, K, Ka, and laser. That's 4, and if you treat Ka as 3 separate bands (no one outside of the world of RD geeks does though), that's still 6. Add POP and that's 7.

I happen to know the manager at our local best buy pretty well. I'm going to talk to him and ask if there is any way that store can stop ordering the rocky mountain radar detectors. If not, I'll see what can be done to convince Best Buy not to sell these products.

I succeeded in convincing 2 of the Wal Marts in my city to stop carrying Cobra Radar Detectors. Albeit I'd prefer Cobra over RMR any day.

Good luck... but looking at the website it looks like, at least for now, the RMR stuff is only available online, meaning it won't be stocked in stores.

Some stores may actually have some, just because the site says Online only doesn't mean its 100% accurate.

I highly dowbt any of the stores have stock of these things because of how recentt all this is. But I have been told to take whatever the website says with a grain of salt.

Oh well, after all of this, I doubt Best Buy will even have them as an available product

If that's the case, I'll contact their customer service like everyone else.
