Took place in a unique Rest Area on I-5, that is right on the Santiam River near Albany Oregon. You can actually drive under the interstate and make what is essentially a U-turn and reverse course
This cruiser (one of them little Dodges) pulls off the pavement and the [lady]COP proceedes to challenge some guy that was fishing. While she was facing the river, I took a couple pix.
I love my camera but the auto-exposure can be frustrating because it uses the flash many times when it's not really necessary. Not only does it negatively impact the pic(by altering the exposure), but it announces to EVERYBODY that a camera is in use. So-o-o-o . .. some whiney ***k felt the need to tattle.
late model MPH Python with an X-band antenna, positioned to the left for better opposite-direction monitoring
COP[approaching my vehicle] "Is there a problem?"
Me: "No, but thank you."
COP: "I understand your are taking pictures."
Me: "That is correct. Is there a problem?"
COP: "What are photographing ?"
Me: "Your Cruiser. That is a beautiful piece of equipment and, as a taxpayer, I'm proud to have invested in it."
COP looks like she just swallowed her badge, and falls back to the script
"I just want to make sure there is not problem"
Me: "Trust me Ma'am, if there was a problem I would communicate it to you in a much more effective fashion. Like I said, this is a beautiful peice of equipment and I'm proud to have invested in it." [I can do the script thing too, LADY]"
She's not happy, but turns and heads towards the Cruiser.
Thank you for your hep, officer - - -
I'm supposed to believe this dialog was prompted by a concern for my safety.
