Default Weather & Terrain Effects on my detector

As weather and terrain effect radar and laser, is it safe to assume it will also effect my detector's ability to "see" radar?

It seems in Washington State, I'm usually riding my Triumph in hilly terrain on twisty roads. I usually get about a 1/2 mile warning with my passport 8500 X50 with full alerts only when I have a direct line of sight to the radar (or laser). I'm guessing this is weather/terrain related but wanted to be sure my detector's sensitivity wasn't messed up.

Seems terrain masking must work both ways.

    Thanks,

    Mike H

    Default Weather

Yes, it the weather and terrain will effect laser

    Terrain will effect radar

When it is raining and/or snowing, it is very hard to use laser
