As you may have noticed in an rd's specifications it will say operating temp down to -20, what happens if you go below that does it stop detecting, or detect at low ranges or could it go hyper sensitive and be more prone to false alerts?

Well when would the unit ever get so cold? Generally speaking it's around +20 C in your house, get into the car which is cold but as soon as the heat comes on (and the internal heat generated by the RD) it isn't much cooler.
A remote mount though...
well all i know that cold temps it could effect it but not sure my x50 had a service message on it and it was beeping when i got in my car this moring it was cold in the lows the temp was like 15 anyways i leaft it on all night thinking that i was doing good to keep it worm u know but i guess it was a bad idea
i guess its allways better to turn off you rd at all times when not needed :shock:
at least you get lower resistance, faster electron movement and if thats the case you get faster detection times...??

I have noticed more K falses than normal since it got really cold here. I just figured it was junk detectors. They normally show up at either 24.069 or 24.089.
what leo would get out into that temperature to give you a ticket??????

Remember, all radar & laser untils also have an operating range. Any radar or laser based ticket would not hold up in court when operated outside of these printed temp ranges.
Is the V1 really that much better then an X50 or an RX65?
