Lingo
I visited the glossary and a few other places trying to find clear definitions of a couple terms I read here, "ghosting" and "J-out". No need to post the definitions again for me, but just a reference thread somewhere that does a good job? It has to have been asked many times before, believe it or not I searched and came up zilch on both "J-out" and "ghosting def"... From context use I can infer much of what ghosting means, but sure have no idea what posters mean with J-out.
Thanks in advance,
Cal

Re: Lingo
Hit search, type in "ghosting". Results: about 16 threads down, "define ghosting". Hope this helps!

Re: Lingo
J-out is when the V1 is in alarm and then afterwards determines it is another radar detector, it will flash "J" saying it is junk and stop alarming (mostly Ka).

ADVICE TO NEWCOMERS:
1. Do not post Welcome or anything like it in another newcomer's thread.
2. You cannot post images until you reach 15 posts but you can attach them.

What you have seen is videos by people who are either Escort fanboys, or simply don't know how to competently test laser countermeasures, which is a rampant problem here. You can find videos of anything you want to find on YouTube, if you look long enough. I can find you videos of girls with dicks. That doesn't make it right.

Pick two, because that is all you can have in any given detector.

A sure sign that it was "professionally installed".

You are entitled to keep your "false free" Escort detector as it doesn't alert to quick trigger pulls and cops using K band in a "TrueLocked" area. Wow, it sure is quiet, as the police officer lowers your pants and sticks the ticket right into your anus.

Wait a min. I never seen a 'J-out' on my V1. Is that a firmware upgrade that I need for my V1?

Re: Lingo
Thinking about the ghosting clips, at first I thought that some amount of ghosting by the V1 would be correct in that it is recognizing strong reflections from the sending unit off of approaching or nearby vehicles etc. But I guess the point is that those reflected signals should still be recorded as the same sending unit frequency, hence only 1 in the display. Is that right?
If so, wouldn't an LEO agency tactic be to always buy radar guns that transmit on the same frequency (or if tunable, have their LEOs on patrol tune them to a certain frequency)? In that case, does the V1 discern between the two signals as different guns or reflections from the same gun?
