Default Should I replace my STi-Driver with a Redline?

    Hi all,
been lurking in the forums for a while...bought by STi-Driver after reading a lot of info here. After a year or so of service...got a reality check a few weeks ago...57/35.. coming around a bend...LEO just backing into his spot after servicing another customer...boom I get lit up like a christmas tree and the blue lights come on. What makes me mad is....it wasn't IO Ka...just a late alert ...really late ...it gets better...went to the races in western virginia this past weekend...roads out there are asking for it...rolling hills...deep curves...but I restrain myself and stay five over the limit....good thing...came around a corner...and boom....2 LEO's in the median....would have been dead meat if I was going much faster...once again not IO...how do I know? I could see the two talking and the one facing me actually glanced at his display and went back to talking...they were that close! Been hit quite a few times by IO...I can tell most of the time anyway
So I've been reading about the Redline...and there seems to be a performance improvement over the STi-Driver....would it be worth the upgrade...or stick with STi-D...I could probably sell it to recoup some of the difference...thoughts?

    My two cents:

I've owned about 3 or 4 STi Drivers and one Redline. Hands down the Redline BLOWS the STi Driver away. All the STis I've owned weren't much better than an 8500 or X50.

How do you know it wasn't IO ? He could have clicked on, read it, left it on, checked it again.

The Driver was Knee capped to give comparable performance to the M4 equipped 9500i.

Escort let the M3 off the leash on the much higher priced 9500ci and STi-R remotes and eventually in the RedLine. Same RF hardware, different firmware. It's unfortunate that Bel doesn't provide a firmware update to Driver owners who paid essentially the same price years ago for a handicapped RedLine.

From the videos I've seen, I'd choose the redline.

This is tough for me to believe; Beltronics purposely has the Driver's firmware handicapped? Then again, Escort has the CI & RL handicapped on Ka by not including BS/RDR options, so I guess it's not all that surprising.

Looks like the redline is the baby to get.

There isn't even a comparison between them. The Redline is WHAT the STI SHould have been.
