I have a few questions about scanners in FL.

I know that most of the state has went to the
Statewide Law Enforcement Radio System

EDACS Networked Standard w/ESK, can you hear anything on it? I see where it mentions analog, but can you hear the analog?

I will be in Troop Zones B, G, C, D

There is analog 15X.XXXX 45x.XXXX but very rarely toneouts& speed traps mostly digital here

Any good speed trap frequencies that you can hear that you know of?

I doubt you will get anything off FHP as I never have. The ESK encrypts the control channel so no scanning and the provoice DES-56bit encryption scrambles the digital voice.

With an analog scanner I think you'll just hear gibberish

Make sure you have a FCC amatuer radio license, or that your scanner isn't "installed" on your car, otherwise, its illegal to run them. "installed" could be as simple as having a car adapter plugged into the scanner.

I read they changed the "installed law" now it's having it in the car at all. People questioned, "well how do you take it home?" Some how it's ok to transport home, but not any other time.
