i was also thinking about getting a cb. i thought it would be useful listening to people report traps. this thread is suggesting if i get a handheld its not going to be useful?

You need a good antenna to use it as a countermeasure.

X2, the minimum setup for a CB is a Uniden 520xl or Cobra 19 and a Wilson Lil Will antenna.
