Default STI-R relocated on 2003 Buick Century (aka the "Stealthmobile")

A few months ago, when the weather was still in the 60's, I had a chance to relocate the antenna for my STi-R from its previous location:

    Old location:

    NEW location:

In its current location I seem to get excellent range, it picks up LIDAR pretty well, and it seems to be pretty stealth to the eye. Comments and criticisms always welcome!

Why yes it is! It's holding quite nicely as a matter of fact!

That's a nice spot. I have mine in the same spot on my car as well. I ended up modifying the license plate bracket to accommodate the STI-R bracket with bolts. Yours looks like it sits back farther than mine and is a bit more harder to see. Very nice. With mine I've also noticed that the license plate acts as a hood and keeps the front of the antenna clear of snow/water/debris.

Hey Vic, did you ever think of putting the antenna behind the bumper?

    what the?

    /facepalm
Forget the facepalm. Just asking because the only difference in detection range occurs on Ka band. I know it should be out in the open, but for us in the dark ages (Canada) we may have no choice but to install behind the bumper. Thanks for the input though, very helpful. Was asking Vic the question.
