Default Will my winshield antenna make a diff??

Well I have been wondering this one for a week now . . my rear range seems to be a bit better than my front range. I currently have it mounted just to the right and below the dots in my winshield. These dots / lines I believe are the antenna. Will this cause the range to be hurt a little bit. Should I move it down a bit??

    straight from the v1 website.

"When V1 is mounted on or near the windshield, don’t worry about defroster lines, or the fine antenna wires you see on the rear window of some cars. Radar and laser zip right past these distant obstructions.

Be careful of wires in the windshield though, because they’re close to V1. Usually the horizontal wires are no problem, but I recommend that you stay a few inches away from vertical wires.

The plastic rear windows on convertibles are transparent for radar, even when the plastic gets old and foggy. But the harder it is for you to see behind, the harder it will also be for rear laser to get through. Because rear laser warnings are rarely helpful however, I wouldn’t lose much sleep over the loss."

Another thing that I have come across that I am really thinkin about calling v1 about is this:

My v1 will grab ahold of a xband and jsut about never let it go. I've driven for miles and miles w/o anything behind me. This is my normal route and I know there is nothing that has set if off there before.

Am I truely just being paranoid that something might be wrong w/ my v1 or could it be something?

    EDIT:

If the unit has been changed, P will appear briefly in the Bogey Counter soon after V1 is switched on (after the lamps-on test, but before the Mode indicator appears.)
Mine makes the P and I didn't even know how to enter the program mode till about 15 seconds ago. I am starting to think that I got a used v1 and paid for a new one.
