Bogus Valentine 1?

After hearing me complain for years that my company supplied a Valentine 1 with my company car but I don't have one in our family car, my wife bought me one on eBay. (I'm new here but I'm assuming that's a no-no.) At any rate, it's version 1.8 while I know the company one is an older version. I'm not getting alerts on this new one at places I always have with the old one.
Is 1.8 that different, or did we get screwed?

Well, maybe that used V-1 was being sold on ebay for a reason!

or, it has been changed from factory defaults with some bands disabled?

Watch the start-up sequence to verify. and reprogram it back to defaults if it has been changed.

Also check what version is running in it.

unless the 1.8 has better filtering than the old one?? i noticed this on my STi from my RX65.

Welcome to the board Qball. You may have to send in your V1 to VR.

Could be a number of reasons for this, if you dont think its working properly send it in for service..
