First encounter with Radar

Well, this is fun!

I turned on to a road on my way home and began to pick up a low level k band, just one and two dots fluctuating. About half a mile down the road I needed to make a sharp right, as soon as I turned right the strength meter went up to 4 and 5 dots before maxing out about a third of a mile down the road at a speed indicator. You know the ones that just flash up your speed, no police in the area just this portable speed detector.

In the end this was an alert over a couple of minutes which was just under a mile in distance and involved a sharp right turn. Not bad going in my book!

I'm finding I can run on "A" mode without any worries at all, I pick up one set of library doors but nothing else has moved the detector, I think I'll stick with A mode for the time being.

Ditto for me staying in "A" mode. I tried l and L because I picked up signals from an automatic door opener at Albertsons, but that's the only place where I get a signal like that and it did nothing to suppress it. Plus doing that reprogramming thing scares the crap out of me. The Murphy Factor is sure to end up getting me a ticket if I start changing things

I guess the settings you run depend a lot where you live and the local environment. I have reprogrammed my V1 for k muting but I get that few - only 1 so far - none police warnings I don't see the need to run in l or L modes. If I was getting a lot of "falses" then I would switch, as it is at the moment I'm happy with A mode and the V1 performace to date is excellent, couldn't ask for more.
