Default Switcing from rx65 to Valetnine One

Hi everybody i am new to this forum, ive been reading alot on what other people have to say. Right know i own a rx65 version 6.1, it works perfect for me, but i also read alot about valentine one, and know i want one. The most common band they used around where i live is Ka band alot, and some k band, thast the reason why i went for the rx65. I live in the suburbs of chicago, i was wondering is is worth switcing to valentine one from a rx65, are the arrows always right, becasue i heard that it is only 45% right. if you go to radartest.com, it says that the beltronics sti driver is better than the valentine one is this true, all the sites that i went to show the valentine one is not good, but some site show they are can somebody tell me what should i do thank you.

Only trust the Guysoflidar testing because everybody else has a conflict of interest.

The Valentine One is #1 and Radartest.com is a site run by a biased loser named Craig Peterson that works for Bel and Escort so he bashes the V1. The arrows are almost 100% right on open highways but that percentage lowers in a city because radar bounces off of everything. The V1 kills everything on X, K, laser, and rear radar detection and it is a toss-up on Ka band depending on which gun is used in your area.

Ive never looked back since I changed from the RX65 to the V1. However If your 65 works fine you really don't need to change it. You could alway's try the 30 day money back with the V1. If you did I'm sure keep it

I own an RX65 and am currently test driving the V1 for 30 days.

    Things I like so far:
    1. being able to mount it high by the RVM and below my tint strip via stealth since it can detect laser from any mount position
    2. the arrows i guess are pretty cool, though not always right
    3. not super bright at night, kinda like dark mode for the rx65
    4. rear antenna
    5. metal casing
    6. volume/mute adjustment

    Things I don't like:
    1. hard to distinguish what band is being detected at night because they are all red leds, guess i have to get used to the tones
    2. ka falses
    3. falses in general over the rx65, though it isnt too too bad

Which would I prefer? Still trying to figure that out myself. Both are outstanding detectors. I'll have to wait for my rx65 to come back so i can compare them side by side, had to send it in due to a faulty speaker

    Hello,

I love my V1, those arrows are great. But remember, radar bounces, thats why they radar you. The signal bounces back and that is how they get 'readings' of your speed. So you could at times get false directions off the arrows. But since owning a V1, only a handful have shown reflected signal direction.

Overall, the V1 has great range, arrows that show where the signal is coming from and most important, 'upgradeable' to the newest model even if you still owned the very first model. I'll agree, would like different colors for each band and auto muting would be nice at times.

I've owned and have used many detectors over the years. From old X band only units to the newest ones that cover X / K / Ku / Ka and laser.

    Take care,

    Spin

I am currently testing a V1 on a 30 day test drive. When I bought my first detector 6 years ago I went with the original 8500, based on radar test info. Over the past 6 years I have owned 2 8500's and 4 8500 X50's. I would exchange them under the Best Buy 2 year product replacement plans everytime I would get a service required or self cal message.

Based on the tests I saw, I always thought I had the best equipment. However, after visiting this site I started to question my assumptions, and start looking closer at the V1. To be quite honnest, many say that the V1 looks archaich, but I actually like the looks. Also, my passangers seem much more impressed with the V1's display.

As far as the arrows are conserned I love them. They are much more accurate than I expected, even in areas with moderate-heavy false alarms. If you are in an area that is VERY polluted with door openers, the arrows do jump around, and understandably so.

As far as range is concerned, the V1 consistently picks up K band farther away than my X50 Rev 5. Somtimes the difference between the two is negligable, often times it is noteable, and sometimes it is substancial. (All testing done one detector at a time.) As far as Ka is concerned, I have not had enough exposure to stationary traps to run a comparison.

    Hope this helps.
P.S. If you don't like it you can always return it.

Make sure you have Ka guard turn on! Your V1 should almost never get false Ka alerts. This is another reason Why I like the V1 over the RX65

The arrows are right probably 90% of the time, which helps wonders over detectors without arrows.

It is on =) and I thought the V1 was known to get Ka falses and not the RX65.
