    Default Remote Audio Adapter questions

Since I finally have my own car to customize, I am going to set up everything nice & discretely. I'm am going to install the remote audio adapter here:

I'll be modifying this switch bezel:

With hopes of looking like this:

So besides from my plans, I have some questions (mainly for tech people).

First, I don't want the audio coming from this, I still want the audio to come from the main V1. What do I have to connect to make this happen? Does the sound travel over the data line?

Second, what line does the mute volume and regular volume travel on? If it just travels on the Mute line that would be easiest so I can just hack up the knob & not worry about the sound.

I haven't purchased anything yet, but looking to set this up within the next couple weeks.

That will be a pretty sweet set-up, and nice car.

I think I once read here, that if you leave the volume knob on adapter on the minimum(just past the "click"),you can have the alerts on V1 and volume is controlled with volume knob on V1.
Someone please correct me,if I'm wrong

Yes I have a remote audio and if the remote is turned just past the click no sound will be heard. It does not function like the remote display in which if one is connected the other shuts off.

Technically you can have the audio come from one or both units, but yes you can have the main unit put out the audio while the remote adapter is silent.

    Ace,

your vid should be a sticky. That is very good, would be nice if you could record with the V1 manual shown as a reference for the new users. Tought me something about the rear K band mute and 6 bar K band mute.

Wish there was a way to mute k band 100% when used in L or little l mode.

Well I am not a pro at making videos but I have a basic knowledge of doing it. I may do a retake with the manual shown if it becomes a popular request Thanks for the compliment and hopefully someone here will make it a sticky. I am glad you learned something because after all that is what we are here to do

Don't we all wish there was 100% muting other than turning K band off itself

You can, I use it, adding (E) (F) (arrows down) logic mode (l) enables all the LED's and the muted volume lever but all eight signal strength LED's of regular K band volume will be disabled until your selected time threshold is over,
what we need to do is petition VR in getting the maximum time threshold extended.

    Logic mode is (little l)?

So mine is set for 30 seconds, so I do E,F arrow down and for 30 seconds the volume is played in mute selection.

Turn off rear K detection and it should be just as quiet as my Bel.

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

Oh I am sorry I thought you were talking something like always at the muted volume. ops:

Yes b, E,F, and G (all down) will mute K band for 30 sec regardless of strength up to that 30 sec time limit.

    I misunderstood
