If X band is not used there I would definitely turn it off.

You can program it to reduce false alerts, but the V1 is one of the chattiest detectors on the market because of it's extreme off axis sensitivity.

Follow mute programing with 30 sec mute, rear K band mute, 4 LED threshold used in little L mode. This will also mute X band. It will definitely reduced the annoyance a lot.

Set up a bit of automuting, but overall you should instead learn to appreciate those false alerts as a symbol of your V1's extreme sensitivity. Those alerts are all from sources that look the same as police radar. If an "ordinary detector" doesn't alert there, it would not alert if a police car was sitting there either.

I hope this is not too far off base.
Can a V1 be programed to respond like a X50 or RX65. I realize the false alerts are evidence of increased sensitivity, but just if one were trying to achieve the balance of sensitivity and quietness of the other 2.
I like the form factor and build of the V1 and would be willing to pay for it, but the false reduction of the the competition is appealing also.

    Guys,you are all right,however liste86a said that he uses V1 in EURO-mode.
It's not possible to program any kind of alert delay/LED trashold or automute in EURO-mode.You can ONLY toggle between "U" (K+KA-narrow) and "u" (Ka-narrow only). In Euro-Mode V1 is always in "A" mode.

liste86a,I sugest that you use small "u" mode (Ka-band only) when you are driving in the city or lower the alert volume, but whatever you do don't use V1 in Ka-superwide Mode.It won't detect Multanova 6 good enough.

Or -and that would be the best solution- you can buy SpeedCheetah GPS Mirror, link it with V1 and you'll have all false alerts suppressed under pre-set speed and you can use 2 City modes, plus GPS Mirror is also a Speed Camera Detector with good European database (it uses Quintezz/SCDB Database).

Are you sure that X-band is used in Belgium? If yes what kind/brand of radar is it?

I heard on Flitsservice Forum that X-band is no longer used in Belgium and that Ku-band is only used in one Belgian Canton (don't remember wich Canton is it)
