Default I was on an overpass and got LASER!

This shows how great the V1 is at night with laser. As long as there are cars around, it will act like IO radar and still give warning.

    My story...

It was 10PM the other night and I was going to work. I was on an overpass stopped at a light, ready to get on 390. I take this route everyday and there are never any radar/laser alerts.

I was still stopped at the light and my V1 alerted to laser, but it wasn't the usual Infiniti style alert. It was much shorter. I looked around and thought it had the consistency of a real laser alert, but still brushed it off. A few seconds later, it happened again and I knew it was laser, but I was still on a local road and there wouldn't be any laser use there. I got on 390 and BAM! Laser!! There was the Trooper in the median who was shooting cars as they went under the bridge (same bridge that was the overpass that I just was on)... best thing is, I was perpindicular to him and still picking up the laser alert. He must have been far enough that the beam was wide when I was picking it up and the scatter shot it all through my car.

Is it a summer thing, or are there more reports these days of laser saves from the V1?

Wow! ... I did not know V1 could pick that up that far and plus perpendicular and you got some obstructions view in the way.

    Was there any doubt?

Now that's impressive! How far from the source do you think you were??

    X2^

however i have seen my V1 to pick up laser scatter somehow from a rear laser trap which was on the on-ramp on the opposite side of a dual carriageway here a month and a half ago so i dont doubt it.

i was practically across the road from him as he was clocking cars going the opposite way when i got the alert too

in front on encounters it has never once failed to alert me out of around half a dozen hits also . very impressive 8)

im just glad i have my LPPs all the same here though but if any RD could save you from laser on its own, its V1.

Where do you mount your V1 on the windshield to get that awesome laser sensitivity?

When I went by him, I could clearly see the cars on top of the overpass in my RVM, so it was probably far enough that the beam was wide enough and to scatter.

My detector is slightly angled because of where it's mounted, so that could have something to do with it too.

V1 is amazing enough during the day for responding to Troopers who shoot every car, but at night, it's even better.
