Default Frequency Coverage in EURO-mode/VR's answer

About a month ago,I sent a e-mail to Valentine Research, asking them about new X-band option, which they added to ValentineOne in firmware revision 3.864 and lots of other questions about previous firmware revisions...etc.,etc.
Anyways, they were very helpfull and they answered all my questions and more. They also send me a .pdf file about ValentineOne's Frequency Coverage in EURO Mode and in normal "A" (All Bogey Mode)-mode.I know that most of you guys are not interested in EURO-mode,because you don't need it,but I decided to post this anyway, for all ValentineOne users overseas, that use/need EURO-mode.This post should be a Sticky for future reference, because we all know that newbs don't like SEARCH button, but that's up for RD.net Administrators/Moderators to decide.

Note:This is Copy/Paste of Valentine Research .pdf File

    EURO-mode Freq.Coverage in previous Revisions:

    Ka: 33.8GHz +/-100MHz (33.700 to 33.900GHz)
    Ka: 34.3GHz +/-100MHz (34.200 to 34.400GHz)

    ValentineOne rev. 3.851 to 3.858
    Ka: 33.8GHz +/-100MHz (33.700 to 33.900GHz)
    Ka: 34.30 GHz +/-140MHz (34.16 - 34.44 GHz)
    Ka: 34.60 GHz +/-40MHz (34.56 - 34.64 GHz)
    Note: I don't know for sure,if rev. 3.851 to 3.858 also covers 34.0GHz+/-40MHz
When I get VR's reply,I'll edit the post.

    ------------------------------------------------

This is a bit off topic, but I'll post anyway.I am sure a lot of V1's users didn't know that.
Last 3 digits of ValentineOne's serial number will tell you MFG year/series.
Example: Serial Number 6451180430,that means V1 was produced between years 1997 to 1998

    Chart:
    s/n. -399 from 1992 to 1996
    s/n. 400-439 from 1997 to 1998
    s/n. 440-599 from 1998 to 2001
    s/n. 600 - and up, from 2001 to 2005

    I don't have s/n. info for 2006 and 2007 -yet!
    I'll update the chart,when I get all s/n. info

    It's a little error there, K band 24.125GHz +- 100MHz should be 24.025 - 24.225 GHz

And a little off-topic: is it true that if you engage "U" mode but you have Ka turned off the V1 will switch by itself to "u" so you won't detect anything  ? I've heard someone complaining about this bug and I want to check if someone else encountered something similar (I don't know what firmware was that about).

    One more question.
Does ū mode in 3.864 is just Euro mode in 3.863 without switching off X band?
    Cheers

You know, they're cool and all, but why isn't this stuff up on their site? Why do we have to get it from helpful posters here?

Well, I would say partly because: They probably most likely don't want too much of their technical specs leaked out to their competition, though I am sure Belscort can get much of it easy enough, there is no reason to broadcast certain aspects.

I have had numerous reps there tell me certain tid-bits of information that I have not repeated on this website, nor will I.

Also for the most part they have a good deal of information if you look for it. Most people wouldn't know what half the technical information on that sheet means.

    Yes,I missed that,thanks! I just Copy/Paste the whole .pdf file ,I didn't change nothing.

It doesn't matter if you turn X,K or Ka-band off,it has no effect on EURO-mode.In EURO-mode you loose all rear K-band AutoMute options and you can switch on/off only K-band,Ku-band,POP,Laser and X-band in rev 3.864 and higher

option u in 3.864 "behaves" exactly the same as Ku-band in previous Rev's.It requires a separate activation and works in both "u" (Ka-narrow ONLY) and "U" modes(Ka-narrow + EURO K-band)

@MetalFlame: you mean you can't have ONLY K in Euro mode? Just K AND Ka?
That sucks, in Romania only K band is used and I like the Euro mode because it' s focused on the GATSO's 24.125 GHz. And I don't want to keep Ka open just to detect the hundreds of Crapras around here

That's correct. There are only two options in Euro-mode,Ka-narrowband or Ka-narrow+EuroK-band.V1 users from UK also have the same problem. They don't need Ka-narrow,only K-band,but unfortunately that's not possible in Euro-mode.
