You actually need to find the program code. Like mine is 3.864. To find it he needs to turn off the V1, push in on the volume knob and while holding it in turn it on and hold it for 5 seconds until all of the LEDs shine. Then let go and press it again. You will see the code flash one number at a time, this tells you how old it is. Find that out and come back here and someone can tell you if the buy is worth it.
Thanks for the info![]()
No problem, glad to help.

Thanks for that V1 Dave![]()
Ive also put the serial number into the V1 upgrades section of their site - http://www.valentine1.com/upgrades/
It came up with...
The bit in bold confuses me, i live in the UK. Is that telling me it is the latest V1 and has the Euro protection?V1 Description: Radar circuitry known in-house as V1.8. This is our latest and best performer on both radar and laser with just one exception—it lacks POP Protection. Of interest to those who drive in Europe, the latest V1 version also has a Euro M
Or it doesnt have Euro protection and i need to upgrade to get it?
Thanks![]()
No Euro for you, POP came 3.818, Euro came 3.821
The newer Euro has been improved as well somewhere around 3.858?
What is your actual version number when you hit the program mode?
If you have around 3.813 people are looking for those units, less glitches.
Ahh i cant find the actual version, havent got my hands on it now.
But i think ill just buy one from new, at least then im getting the most upto date version![]()
thanks for your help!
If you buy new, you may consider buying the new 3.864Originally Posted by WarioTBH
WarioTBH,Euro-mode is special Ka-narrowband mode for detecting Ka-band radars in Europe. You don't need Euro-mode in UK,because you don't have Ka-band radars in UK. Police in UK use only Laser guns, K-band and Ku-band radars(not sure if they still use Ku-band radars, because "mini gatso 09 radar" is late '80 technology)
