Ordering my V1 today

Psyched to be ordering my first V1 today. I'll spend a few months comparing it and the 9500i to make a decision which I'd rather stick with, or maybe keep both!

What settings/tools does the V1 have in the way of personal user preferences. With the Escort 9500i you have some options that are helpful like AutoBrightness which auto adjusts to ambient lighting, and AutoMute/AutoVolume which are really nice touches - that it would seem a more sensitive detector like the V1 would REALLY benefit from. Does the V1 sport any user preferences like this?

Brightness is set automatically. There is not Bright/dark mode. Of course, you could get the CD and be in "dark" mode all the time.

so theres one setting only for brightness? or you're saying it adjusts automatically?

thank you....when he worded it "SET automatically" it was unclear if he meant ADJUSTS or not. "SET" led me to believe it remained constantly the same brightness. thanks for clearing it up.

Now that we have the brightness out of the way...

Yes, there is auto-muting. The muting begins from the START of the alert. Read the stickies about how to do that.

(Oh, before you go asking, the big red dot on the front of the display is for the auto brightness.)
