If I turn my key off, my V1 turns off.

I've mentioned this before, but I think it's worth mentioning it again.

A kill switch would solve this issue easily, plus if they follow you at night and you have the concealed display, they can't see jack.

I had a cruiser follow me at night and zap me with I/O K-band....I laughed my ass off, since I picked him up way before he got behind me.

CD + shuts off with the car if I dont think muting it is enough, plus no obvious coiled wire going straight up my windshield.

    I'm confused.

When you said one of the few reasons NOT to hardwired your V1. Well, your cord is freaking hanging out down to the dashboard that Cops can easily see! That's worst than hard wiring. Also, the Cops headlights were flashing onto the V1 and you can see it easily see it whether it's on or off. It does not matter if it's hardwired or not.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think that video makes the case to hardwire lol. No dangling cords and up high.

Get behind the car, throw a decent flashlight on it and take the photo. Spotting RDs is a hobby of mine and the cord is usually one of the easer clues. Plus my CD is hidden off the side of the guage cluster, my hand never reaches any higher than the steering wheel to mute it.

For eample, the wire here makes this stand out, even if it waas moved up higher

officers are trained to look for a dangling cord or a missing cigarette lighter boys when your stopped. They also like to light up your car with a shot of microwaves to see if your rd lights come on. I run my detector right in front of me on the dash board now. It can't be seen by the fuzz from behind me and I can see the display easily. It is also very very easily removed because it's on Velcro. Slip in the cig lighter at a stop and your good to go.

personally I hate to see the v1 mounted up near the mirror. Cops are trained to notice these things and while he might not comment on your detector chances are he will issue a ticket if you are caught speeding instead of a warning with that there. Get a hidden visor mount if you can or mount your v1 in front of you.
