I have had my V1 now for almost 7 months now and am thinking about making some changes to the programming. Was wondering what changes, if any, you other V1 owners have made to yours.
Turned off POP Only
Turned off X Band Only
Adjusted K Band Automuting Only
Turned off both POP and X Band Only

None: I left all factory settings intact

Only turned POP off. Here in NJ you gotta keep it in "A" mode. Unfortunately they still use x band.
My V1 works well in "A" mode. I don't mind the occassional non LEO X-band
alerts because it lets me know my batteries on my mp3 booster to my helmet speakers are still good!
I leave the V1 at factory presets due to the wide range of bands used here and not having that many problems with Cobras.
The predominant band for CMPD is K (normally in I/O form), followed by a few Ka from the old “HITS” unit (again in I/O form), 2 – X units floating around that I have seen and finally CMPD is using laser, not sure what mfg. Also, in town the NCHP uses Pro Laser III’s (usually rear shots) and an assortment of K and Ka. One last thought if you’re running through town on I-85 between Charlotte to Kings Mountain, NCHP is always running consistently 1 ~ 5 LEO’s using VASCAR where no RD will help you.

I have had POP off since about a month after I got the V1 (and no J outs since). Just recently turned off X band and now am exploring K band automuting. I am not sure how I feel about K automuting yet. I have it set on 15 seconds but have not seen a K leo to see what an encounter is like.
Its not that I think the V1 is too noisy, but really most LEO's around me are Ka band. The primary K threat around me is constant on which you can detect for miles. I may drop the time down to 3 or 5 seconds, which should be ample time to pass the local CVS.
