mute question on an older unit (3.819)

I noticed a few days ago that then I hit the mute button it mutes al the way.
The mute lever doesn't work at all when I mute.
I was at a known false K area so I muted it and I noticed KA flashing but no sound.
I just got this unit back from VR, I sent it in for a tune up about a month ago.
Its 3.819 so i am not sure if this is the way the older unit acts when muted or its broken.

If you turn the main volume and the mute volume up you don't hear anything when it's muted?

It's probably got something broken inside. All 1.8 V1s behave the same as far as muting goes.

Go into the programming, and be sure option 8 is set at default.

Plus it does it at all settings, A, L and l

1 - DOWN - X band Off
2 - UP - K band On
3 - UP - Ka band On
4 - UP - Laser On
5 - UP - Normal Rampup
6 - UP False Alarm Guard
7 - DOWN - Features b thru G Enabled
8 - UP - Muted volume
A - UP
b - DOWN, C - UP, d - UP = 30 Sec AutoMute
E - DOWN - stay muted at four lights
F - UP - unmute at 6 lights
G - UP - Don't mute rear Kband
H - UP - Ku Off
I - Down - Factory Test On
J - Down - Pop Off
u - UP - Euro Off
