V1 - Forward Facing 35.5 FHP

Driving home from school today and ran across a trooper right as I entered the highway and thought I'd videotape the experience. The front facing detection i encountered was phenomenal! Check it out.

Cool video. How did you know it was 35.5? From what I've read the V1 is good on forward 35.5, not so good off axis

One of my high school computer teachers was actually a trooper with the FHP and told me about all the equip they use. I only graduated two months ago, so the information is pretty accurate. For me, the V1's forward facing has been just about as good with its off axis detection.

Most FHP cars (in SWF) run 34.7.

The FDOT cars, on the other hand, run 35.5.

Thats odd. I think he knew what he was talking about since he patrols on a weekly basis but maybe there was some misunderstanding.

I drive a work vehicle all over SW Florida. 34.7 is the norm down here for FHP. The DOT people, however, have never used anything other than 35.5 in my encounters.
