V1 and Ka Guard OFF

I have been running my V1 3.813 with Ka guard off and geeting insane results. I tried this with my 3.872 but could not tolerate the falses

please elaborate and have you tired pop off with ka guard off on the 3.872

yes I have. 3.813 falses much less with Ka guard off to the point where it can be driven this way.

My advice would be not to turn it off and keep POP off. I would rather know that when Ka goes off it is an LEO, rather than pick up a few extra feet plus all junk detectors.

I'm the opposite, I would rather deal with falses all day long and ACTUALLY KNOW when there is an LEO instead of ignoring because it might be junk. Radar is radar...

For me, with Ka guard off on a 40 mile trip with moderate traffic its easy to get 10+ Ka falses.

That doesn't make any sense at all. When I get a Ka, I ACTUALLY KNOW its an LEO. If you are receiving all radar signals, odds are you will ignore it before me. I guarantee over time you will pay less and less attention to Ka if you have POP on and receive junk Ka alerts.

I agree with HappyA$$, the 3.872 falses too much with POP on/Ka filter off. Wish I had an earlier version to compare.

yes I have. 3.813 falses much less with Ka guard off to the point where it can be driven this way.

I am running 812 as we speak with guard off and had less falsing than the 813 in my 40 min usual drive. This is just driving both versions in the last few days. I'll share my findings between the 2 later after testing them both thoroughly.

omg I had gurad off today, for a 15mins drive to my friends house, and ever 1 minute I got a false ka band alert. Some times it was like I/O, no thanks I turned it off, much more quieter

Well today I rode home with it off. The v1 turns into a RDD (7 falses) but I did notice better range on a LEO with 35.5.

thast the reason why I want to turn it on, to get more better range with 35.5. But the falses drove me crazy, I didnt know if it was a real leo or a crappy detector.

I have tried my V1 3.872 with POP off and Ka gaurd off, and my Ka went off a lot and it was not from police radar. Then I realized that my sat radio antenna is mounted on my dash in the corner, so I am going to try Ka gaurd off again with the sat radio turned off and see if I get the same results. I'll let you all know.

BTW, I LOVE my 3.872 V1. Can't resist the zombie virus. I have to control myself or I could end up like jazzy.
