OK, so I load up the wifey and all three kiddos into the 5spd legacy (spoiler, tinted windows, and of course V1) (Yes, I'm having some type of mid 30's/life crisis..lol)

And we turn on to a main blvd off a single lane road, and of course I break out to the right hand lane in 2nd going up to almost redline to get ahead of the friday night suburban crowd on the way to dinner.

Wife does the usual nagging, "how do you stand that noise" (v1 chirping) etc, then throws out the "did'nt you get pulled over the other night for this?" (read above link) and I'm like "no, that was for a lane change, and tinted windows and they were looking for DWI's, I never get pulled over for speeding w/ this bad boy(V1)."

Then just as I said that, I noticed that I was'nt really paying attention to the thing, because the music was blarin, and I'm extolling the virtues of the V1, and I just happened to look up and see the darn thing is screamin KA band at me and it took a sec to slow down, and 10 mph slower wasn't enough, I had to go at least 20 down (how the hell did I get to 65 so fast, 45psl) and I know of 2 pissed off vehicles behind me that I blew by.

So I just get to the psl when there's the trooper stickin out of a business driveway just waitin to pounce, and he's parked in a way you can't see him till you turn the bend more, and he's pointed at an angle that does'nt let you pick up the signal right away, I can only imagine I would've been pwned if I had a cobra.

He was so there that even my wife went "wow", if only I recorded it, sheesh.

I made the nagging wife hi five me!!!!!

Ditto. Both are extremely deadly. I got I/Od for my 2nd time ever two days ago, and first time being hit by surprise in the kill zone. (The first time, I had seen a couple of blips before hand, so I knew a cop was somewhere ahead of me.) I was traveling one way, and he was comming the other. I came around a slight curve kinda fast and just happend to notice him as I rounded it and let off the throttle and about 1 second later he gunned me. Full LED alert. I would have been nailed. Put me back in my place.

thanx, I did a lot of research here and elsewhere to know that this is a tool only, and not the endall beall (what?), I drove my area carefully before letting it rip and talked to some leo's to get a feel for where laser is in my area, and make sure to use my eyes, and rabbits when in uncharted territory. Even then I know it's a radar detector, not a leo detector.

I/O is Instant On. Nothing is tramsmitting from the radar gun until he has you in his sights. Then zap, he's got you. No chance to slow down before he has speed reading on you.

Yep I/O is deadly, all the LEO have it in my area. The only thing i can count on is them gunning someone around me.. and my acuity

whats the difference btwn I/O and pop? Is I/O simply the leo turning a regular radar on as you come by?
