Default V1 vs 9500ix Excel Matrix

I set up a Excel Weight Matrix to compare the two.

The Weight Column basically means how important that feature is.

The next two are a score of how well each detector does on scale of 1 to 10.

The next two are weighted scores.

Then the weighted scores are totaled.

Keep in mind these are my own weights.

Certainly open to opinion on the unweighted scores.

I've attched the Excel spread sheet as well inside the zip file if you want to play.

EDIT: I updated the speadsheet to make it a little clearer (New Sheet has some RED Text)

It's work in progress for myself but I thought I would share it. I needed something to look at the big picture.

I don't care about Pop. People seem to care more about the side effects of Pop on vs Off than for Pop itself though. But I forgot about Q/T though but that's partly covered in a broad catagory of "Range". I May want to break that out a bit. Basically "Range" is all the tests GOL does and I gave it heavy weight and rated V1 significantly higher than IX.

False alarms is really covered by the different AutoMuting, Customization, GPS features. Having another "False" catagory would be doubling up on those features.

Well , pop on does help catch QT on some frequencies , and people that live in areas n the states were pop or K band QT is used may be insterested on seeing which model behaves better with this option on.

And false alarms are not completely related to GPS , the internal filtering against KA band falsing and others is different on each model .

But you were right about laser falsing on V1 , I don't know why this happened , my old 1.7 had good laser detecting and never falsed.

Nice work! Why didn't the V1 get a 10 on forum presence though?

I'm talking about the company itself being on forums.

Escort has their own forum and they visit the RD.net Escort forum as well. They don't answer many direct questions but I give them credit for being on the forums.
