Noisy Electrical System Falses?

I'm growing more and more fed up with my 9500ix as its starting to lose all the stored known false locations and not relearning. Also the lack of arrows always has me constantly freaking out where the source is. Almost seems like it increases my chances of getting a ticket or in an accident looking around like a mad man to figure out where its coming from.

Any who, my main question is my car is one with a "noisy" electrical system and my 9500ix would false laser under hard acceleration. I finally found a suitable location to stop this but its not the best power source (wiper blades). I've tried searching and was unable to find any issues with the V1 pertaining to this issue. Just seems to be escorts

I havent hear that about the V1s.
But there are tons of things that can set off the laser alert including the color of your car..

with my 9500ix i was having problems with my battery ground being loose.......one day my 9500ix just spammed k band my entire ride to work, i thought maybe a cop behind me, then realized i was getting engine noise through my radio, and with some tinkering with my battery ground, i got it all good again

i'd suggest at looking at your grounds for your battery and your RD, as if it's falsing the 9500ix, it'll probably false the v1......assuming it is a eletrical issue ofcourse

PS wiper blades may not be the best source to tap into, as if something goes wrong, you could lose your wiper blades until you fix it

Also my ground was bad for quite a while before it started falsing my 9500ix, IE i had small engine noise through the radio for quite some time and it slowly got worse, so falsing on the 9500ix, or anything for that matter shouldn't happen overnight, you've probably had this problem for a while

The power was 100% on the dot voltage wise. Grounds were no problem. If I had it plugged into the cigarette lighter it would do fine, we tapped those exact same wires or any other 12V and as soon as my turbo spooled it would alert Laser.

Doing research it seemed to be a common issue either under acceleration or using the horn. Escort knows about the issue and wanted me to send it in to "desensitize" it.

I had it installed at work by people I trust and they said Escorts do this on almost all new Japanese and some American made cars now. Something possibly due to a quick voltage drop but nobody seems to know except Escort who keeps insisting I send it in.

They never had any issues with the V1 and I was just checking here to see if that's the case.


Edit: Did some more research, apparently if you have this problem Valentine has a different hardwire kit they will send you for free that fixes the problem. I'm sold.

You can buy a noise filter for the power wire of the rd.
Most car radio shops have them.

Try adding a choke to see if that helps. They just snap on. Put it as close to detector as you can.

I never had a problem locating LEO's with 9500ix, they were usually only a few cars away

This is probably your best bet, or sell it and get a v1.. its better

That's a known issue with Escort, they had this with the 8500 X50 as well. As far as I heard, people sent it back to them. (false laser alerts)

I'm awaiting the newest GoL results before pulling the trigger. Also trying to figure out how to install a remote mute for the V1. I have my escort mute button hidden in my coin tray which has a cover and no wires are exposed. I guess my only option is to buy the V1 Concealed display solely for the mute button so I can put it in the same location.

You can still run the display on the V1 itself with the concealed display enabled correct? The concealed display won't be visible to me unless I look down at it.
