False Ka Alert

The other night I was driving on i91 north in CT in little L mode. All of a sudden my forward facing Ka Alert went off, which is very strange for a CT highway. As i continued to drive the Ka Alert stayed the same signal strength... This was weird.. So I sped ahead to try and find the bogey who was also driving in the same direction as me.. As i sped up the Ka alert get growing stronger and stronger.

IT was now going off at full strength and I had no cop in front of me.. But 2 suv's, one was an audi Q series and the other was either a Nissan or an Infiniti.
I then sped past both cars and my Arrows flipped to behind me and the signal strength went down by about half.

My guess is one or both of these cars had rear facing radar for a blind spot monitoring system. MY mazda 6 has a blind spot monitoring system, but has never set off any radar, nor have i see another mazda set off my radar.

IF this was the case with the Nissan/Audi, it totally sucks because it was a strong Ka alert. Ka is typically very reliable for sniffing out LEOS, if anything i would expect their cars to be giving off a K signal.

Has anyone else come across this at all?

Probably a leaky detector from what I have learned at other posts on this site. I've came across it a few times but normally it is a K alert rather than a Ka alert. But I have had Ka falses due to picking up other detectors as well.

there was an audi (dont remember what model) which was behind me on a stoplight.....my ka signal jumped....i was unsure if it was him or not since there were so many cars....so i jumped on to the freeway and as the audi got closer, it set the ka signal on again..... he was on the freeway with me for about 30 minutes or so...... and the ka kept going on and off as he crept up behind me...pretty annoying! im thinking he had something in his car perhaps another radar detector?? not sure what it was.

After looking at the GOL testing results, i drove around for a while with the Ka Guard off and i was on this stretch of road with a BMW in front of me and he had his cobra mounted on the dash. The entire 15 miles i would get a blip of Ka and then it would die and 2 seconds later it would do the same thing.....if i wasnt using him as a rabbit i would have zoomed past him.....Atleast having the boogey counter helps....

The falses were the exact reason I switched Ka Guard back on. I began feeling desensitized to short Ka Blips. With Ka Guard on, I am fairly certain there is an imminent threat and I take the corrective action. Although, with Ka Guard off you quickly learn just how many Cobras are out there!

My feelings exactly. When my V1 alerts to Ka, 99+%, the threat is real.
