No, the only thing you accomplish is wearing out your knob and having to reset your volume when you turn it back on.

I have mine hardwired to a switched ignition circuit plus a kill switch. I never need to touch the knob.

Nope, mine's hardwired. it turns on/off with the car

For the most part you can let it turn on and off with the car. Hardwire or not if you cig lighter is turned on with the car it is the same thing as a hardwire.

Never have to do it, hardwired with power window circuit and the window lock switch doubles as the kill switch for the V1.
