    Default V1 stolen and RECOVERED.....

Wed at 5:30 am I was leaving for work and went outside to my car to grab my lunch bag. I first noticed what looked like a tear in my convertible top. I live in a small town of about 3000 people. I thought WTF? It took me a minute to realize what had happend. I then noticed both of my doors were unlocked. I reluctantly opened the glove box and saw the bottom....GONE. I couldn't belive it. My GPS and more importantly my V1 3.826 were GONE....

I called V1 and they were helpful in getting me the SN and reported it as stolen. I honestly figure it was gone forever.

Well I am happy to report the police just left and advised me they recovered my V1 and GPS. My car was one of 18 broken into that night.

Just a heads up reminder guys make sure you take your RD down and lock it in the trunk or take it with you! I made a huge mistake.

    "G"OD must love V1 also......

A word of thanks to local law enforcment for their fine work too.

And a Huge thanks to my Best friend for going to the trouble of spending big $$$$ to get me his STI overnighted so I was not without a RD. You the best bro......

this just reinforces that I will never get a car with a cloth top, if you want a convertible get one with a metal roof. I always wondered what will stop a thief from just cutting it. This proves nothing.

Even with a hard top, they'll still just bust your glass. It's best to leave nothing of value in there, and leave the doors unlocked. That way they don't cause any damage trying to figure out there's nothing to steal.

Glad to hear you got lucky, Rott!

Holy $hite Dave , you were very lucky to get your V1 back.

Sorry to hear that it happened in the first place but the story could have been much worse I suppose...
