3.824 Firmware upgrade

Hi everyone.

I have a the 3.824 firmware which has the bug where K band cannot be muted.
I called V1 customer service today and they told me that they had never heard of this bug before and that there is no such thing.

The question I have is, how do I get this fixed?

Isn't this suppose to be a free upgrade? (It a sense the product isn't working like it is suppose to)
For everyone that did get it upgraded, what firmware do they upgrade you to?
Is it possible to be upgraded to a firmware with more problems?
Also, for those that did get an upgrade for this, how did you get them to upgrade it for you? I talked to two customer service reps and they both told me the same thing.

There is no free upgrade unless you bought it from them and it's not older than a year.

The only version you can upgrade to is 3.872, and from what I see it doesn't have any problems, or maybe just minuscule things.
